COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE
Tottenham Community Acupuncture is an affordable acupuncture clinic in Tottenham, N17.
Our aim is to bring the benefits of acupuncture to a wider community, at a price that makes it accessible to all.

We are open every Wednesday from 2:30pm - 6:30pm.

MULTI-BED CLINIC
We are a multi-bed clinic, which means several people are treated together in one large, light and peaceful space.
During treatment, our experienced practitioners will insert acupuncture needles which are left in place for 20-30 minutes, allowing the patient to relax whilst the practitioner moves on to another patient.

By providing acupuncture in this way, we are able to keep costs low and reduce the price for each patient. Lower cost treatments, means patients can access sessions more frequently, leading to better and long lasting results for health and wellbeing.
SLIDING SCALE PRICING

Our sliding scale payment system offers acupuncture from £30 - £50 per session. This is not means tested - you choose what you can afford according to your budget.
Appointments can last between 45 - 60 minutes.
EAR ACUPUNCTURE
Auricular acupuncture - where small needles are inserted in the ears - is available for £10 per session.
Seated, this treatment involves use of a protocol which inserts 5 needles into each ear, and is recommended for general benefits which include:
- Increased calmness
- Promotion of better sleep
- Reduction of cravings
- Relief from stress and emotional trauma.
Unlike the other acupuncture sessions offered, this does not involve a full consultation with the practitioner. After the needles are inserted, the patient is left to relax in a chair for up to 45 minutes.
Please note, if you have a specific health condition that you would like to address, it is recommended that you book in for a sliding scale appointment (£30-£50) as this will allow for a more focused treatment with the practitioner.
WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?
Acupuncture is the practice of inserting very thin needles into targeted areas of the body, to help restore balance; physically, mentally and emotionally.
In Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) the body is seen as a network of channels known as meridians, which connect with each other allowing the energy, or Qi of the body to flow.

Many aspects of modern life such as injury, emotional stress, poor diet and lack of exercise can affect the smooth flow of Qi in the body, causing imbalance and reduced levels of body function, which can lead to illness.

By gentling stimulating points on these channels with very fine needles, acupuncture can help restore the flow of Qi, engaging the body’s natural healing mechanism to bring equilibrium back to the body and restore health.

Acupuncture is particularly effective in the treatment of:

Pain - acute and long term (chronic) pain conditions, including back, neck, knee, and muscle pain, sports injuries, sciatica, arthritis, headaches, migraine and more.
Mental and Emotional Wellbeing - including stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, grief, panic attacks, fear, addiction.
Hormonal Imbalances and Menstruation - including pain, irregular flow, PMS, infertility, menopause, thyroid imbalance.

Pregnancy - pre and post natal care.
Digestive Issues - including IBS, diarrhoea, constipation, bloating, appetite and food issues.
And Much More… Get in touch to discuss your specific health enquiry.

Every person is unique, and treatments are designed to meet the individual needs of the patient.

We also encourage each patient to be actively involved in their own healing process, and include lifestyle and nutritional advice in the sessions.

FAQ
What will a session be like?
When booking online, you will be asked to fill in some health and lifestyle details, and asked to share some information about what issue you are looking for help with from acupuncture. You will also be asked to read and sign our consent form.
When you come in for your first session, you will be greeted by your practitioner who will then conduct a one-on-one consultation before a treatment. Treatment will either take place on a comfortable reclining chair or on a couch bed, depending on your requirements.

Does it hurt?
No - the needles in acupuncture are incredibly fine, so acupuncture should not be a painful experience. After insertion, you may well experience a sensation around the needle, from a tingle to a dull ache or slight numbness, but this should not be unpleasant and is a sign that the treatment is working.

What should I bring to the appointment?
You will not need to undress fully for treatment, loose fitting clothes are the easiest to work around. Please also bring your own water if needed as there is none available now in the clinic, and make sure to have eaten prior to the appointment.
Our space is warm and comfortable but please also bring a towel or sarong to the session in case needed for additional cover.
